"Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America."

I normally don't use our blog to voice my polititcal agenda, but felt like the events of the past 24 hours are blog worthy.

I remember the first time I ever heard the name Barack Obama. He was a senator from Illonois who was Oprah promoting the book he had just written entitled Dreams of My Father. I remember thinking to myself......"Wow, he is an amazing person and would be a great President". There was just something about him, that from that first impression, that made me trust him, and believe in his vision for America.

I know a lot of people are skeptical in his ability to lead the nation and make the necessary changes needed to restore order to so many aspects of our country. His view are new, and very progressive. People said the same thing about the views of John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln and look at what kind of Presidents they became. The American people have elected the right man to lead us in this struggling period in The United States. To all the skeptics.....give him a chance before you discredit his policies and ideologies. America is in need of a new way of thinking and governing, and I KNOW we are headed in the right direction with Barack Obama as our President.

"What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them — that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. Those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government."
